HIGH COURTS (ALTERATION OF NAMES) BILL, 2016:
The
Union Cabinet has given its approval to The High Courts (Alteration of
Names) Bill, 2016 to change the names of the High Courts based on the
nomenclature cities they are located. Union Minister Shri Ravi Shankar
Prasad announced that the Government has renamed the Bombay, Calcutta
and Madras High Courts. These Courts, established after an order by
Queen Victoria of Great Britain in 1862, will now be called of Mumbai,
Kolkata and Chennai. However, the official release mentioned only the
Mumbai and Chennai High Courts. The proposed Bill in consequence to the
change in the names of these High Courts was prepared to fulfil demands
of the respective State Government and the People.
SEBI:
The
Securities and Exchange Board of India has revised the Format for
Financial Results and Implementation of Ind-AS by Listed Entities. This
Circular shall come into force with immediate effect and the contents of
the circular dated November 30, 2015, shall stand modified to the
extent stated under this circular. The existing formats prescribed in
SEBI Circular dated November 30, 2015 for Unaudited/Audited quarterly
financial results i.e. Statement of Profit and Loss and the
Unaudited/Audited Half-Yearly Balance Sheet to be submitted by the
listed entities, with the stock exchanges, shall continue till the
period ending December 31, 2016.
